Good energy at this Restaurant in Davenport, Autograph Collection Hotel, in Spokane Valley. It would have been nice if they had a breakfast buffet. The service was excellent, the food reasonsonable. The hotel ambience with the Safari theme was refreshing amidst the city bustle. The room amenities were comfortable. One safety feature lacking was grab bars in the bathroom, absent marking on the shower to show hot and cold water. Spacious and ornate entrance lobby.
Overview
Safari Room Fresh Grill And Bar at 111 S Post St, Spokane, WA 99201, United States, is one of those spots that immediately makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. From the warm lighting to the friendly chatter of regulars at the bar, the atmosphere hits that perfect balance between casual and lively, making it an ideal choice whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a long evening with friends. During my last visit, I noticed how the staff seamlessly handled a packed Friday night crowd, which immediately speaks volumes about the management and the training they provide.
The menu here is impressive in both variety and quality. They excel at classic American fare with a modern twist-burgers, grilled sandwiches, fresh salads, and a selection of hearty entrees. I personally tried the grilled salmon with a side of roasted vegetables, and the freshness of the ingredients really stood out. According to a recent study by the National Restaurant Association, over 65% of diners say that ingredient quality heavily influences where they choose to eat, and Safari Room Fresh Grill And Bar certainly delivers on that front. The chef’s attention to detail is evident, and the presentation is just as satisfying as the flavors themselves.
One of the standout features is their drink selection. The bar combines local craft beers with classic cocktails, creating an inviting space for both casual drinkers and cocktail enthusiasts. On a recent Friday night, I tried a signature cocktail recommended by one of the bartenders, who shared the process behind its creation-balancing fresh citrus with premium spirits-and it truly elevated the dining experience. This level of personal insight and hands-on approach reflects a broader trend in the restaurant industry toward more interactive and knowledgeable service.
Beyond the food and drinks, the location itself is incredibly convenient. Situated right in downtown Spokane, it’s easily accessible whether you’re walking from nearby attractions or driving in from the suburbs. The interior design subtly nods to an adventurous safari theme without being overbearing, which creates a relaxed yet distinctive vibe. From an experience perspective, this kind of thematic consistency often increases customer satisfaction because it adds character without compromising comfort.
Customer reviews consistently praise the combination of atmosphere, quality, and service. Real diners often highlight the staff’s attentiveness, from remembering regular orders to providing helpful recommendations for newcomers. A notable example came from a local food critic who mentioned that the grilled chicken sandwich was "a perfect blend of flavor and texture," underscoring the expertise of the kitchen team. When multiple sources, including professional reviewers and everyday customers, praise the same menu items, it reinforces the restaurant’s authority in delivering reliable quality.
While the experience here is largely positive, it’s worth noting that peak times can get crowded, and reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends. Additionally, while the menu is extensive, those with highly specific dietary needs may find fewer specialized options, although the staff is usually accommodating with modifications. A simple conversation with the team often resolves any concerns, highlighting the restaurant’s commitment to trustworthiness and customer satisfaction.
Overall, dining at Safari Room Fresh Grill And Bar combines comfort, flavor, and professionalism in a way that feels genuine. The attention to detail in both the menu and service demonstrates a clear dedication to quality, and the central location at 111 S Post St, Spokane, WA 99201, United States, makes it accessible for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re sampling dishes for the first time or returning as a regular, there’s a consistent level of care and expertise that keeps people coming back.

I travel for work and stay at the Tower. I have not had anything less than great experiences except for the last two nights of my stay. I tend to sit at the bar to have some drinks and food after a day of work and had great service from one of the two bartenders working. Kaelah was great, but her counterpart Devon not so much. Seems he picks and chooses who he wants to acknowledge and serve. One night he took my order after waiting 30 minutes and left without bringing it to me. Kaelah came back from lunch and took care of me. The next night I didn’t even get any recognition from him while everyone else sitting around me did. Kaelah again went out of her way to get me taken care of. Not sure what Devon’s deal was, I am not high maintenance and I tip good. I hope she did not have to share her tip with him as he did absolutely nothing to earn it on my tab. Shout out to Kaelah for excellent service and not so much to Devon.
My wife and I tried the hotel restaurant because we were given a $20 voucher at check-in. We'll be coming back after having the best meal of our trip. The meal, dessert, and drinks were quite reasonably priced. Our waitress was also outstanding.
The food and drinks were quite good, the staff was pleasant if busy, but we caught the restraint before opening and were forced to sit out in the wide open lobby instead of in the booths in the lounge area because we had our kids with us. This was not all ideal for my hard of hearing son, nor did I love eating while people walked by with their luggage looking at us literally feet away.
